Security in a New Age: The Internet of Things
Why We Run RUN! GEEK! RUN!
Alexandria has been an amazing city to start a business! With the support of the Alexandria SBDC, Ironistic got off to an amazing start in 2012 and continues to thrive, utilizing many of the practices promoted through their seminars and workshops. As a result of these organizations (and a ton of other amazing partners!), we are fortunate enough to work with many Alexandria businesses and organizations to help them elevate their online successes.
The initial gun for RUN! GEEK! RUN! went off in 2008, with W2 Communications leading the pack as the hosts. After eight successful years, in 2016, W2 needed a rest day, and asked Ironistic and Hudson Studio to take the lead. It did not take long for us to warm-up to the idea and accept the challenge. With a bit of speed work, we certified a new course in Alexandria, found Alexandria business sponsors, gathered runners and walkers at all levels, and named our first, of many, Alexandria non-profit beneficiary.
Our runner’s high comes from giving back to a community that has given so much to us. Business is an endurance sport requiring a great deal of training, intervals, endorphins, fuel, a crew, and cheerleaders. Alexandria’s community offers all that and more, encouraging us to pay it forward. Our past Alexandria non-profit beneficiaries have been selected based on the joint interests and connections to Ironistic and Hudson Studio. We look forward to tethering with the National Industries for the Blind this year, and potentially your non-profit in the years to come!
Join us on September 29th to experience what a true community event means – the George Washington Middle School choir singing the National Anthem, the TC WIlliams Drill Team presenting the colors, the West Potomac cross country team screaming louder than your legs, the Alexandria businesses providing the means to put on the event, the Alexandria Police supporting the out-and-back course, and the runners/walkers striding to make a difference for a local non-profit! Avoid FOMO (fear of missing out) and register now at www.rungeekrun.com!
