The Organization for Autism Research (OAR) is a non-profit that strives to increase advocacy and make a real difference in the lives of people with autism as well as their families and educators. For the past 15 years, they have raised millions of dollars for research and awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships for post-secondary education. They also provide invaluable online resources, including Hire Autism for adults with autism seeking employment and Operation Autism, designed especially for military families. On top of all this, they also champion support through various races around the world through their RUN FOR AUTISM initiative.
Before OAR came to Ironistic, their website needed a makeover. It was outdated, difficult to navigate, and didn’t showcase all the amazing resources they offer. They needed to better share their mission with the world and make their site more accessible to those they sought to serve. Ironistic stepped in and built them a brand new, custom WordPress site that incorporated their unique branding and highlighted all of the great work they do, including their events, resources, and research grants. Much of the events and news sections are built using custom post types that allow OAR to easily update their content and keep things current. In addition, the site also features a font adjuster, custom integration with their CRM, and customized event calendars. We also redesigned their navigation and login feature, making the OAR site much more user-friendly and bolstering the outreach and impact they’re able to have. Be sure to check out the new website, and think about becoming a sponsor or volunteer, getting involved in one of OAR’s races, or simply donate to the cause.
