SEM Specialist

Ironistic is seeking an experienced SEM specialist that can lead the strategic direction and execution of organic and paid search engine marketing efforts that align with our client’s overarching digital marketing strategies. The SEM specialist will work closely with the account services team to develop SEM strategies and manage our client’s day-to-day organic and paid search efforts.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of work experience as an SEO specialist, SEM Specialist or similar position
  • 3+ years experience planning and implementing successful SEO and paid search strategies
  • Expertise in Google Ad campaign planning, management and ongoing performance optimization for both large and small ad spend budgets
  • Expertise in technical elements of SEO, such as canonicals, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, schema markup, etc.
  • Understanding of and experience in local search optimization
  • Understanding of basic HTML as it relates to SEO
  • Ability to analyze data and provide evidence-based recommendations
  • Experience reviewing website performance and usability in relation to SEO
  • Ability to implement foundational SEO recommendations in a WordPress environment
  • Experience completing keyword research
  • Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytics tools including Google Analytics and Google Search Console, as well as internal reporting tools.
  • Experience working with popular SEO tools (Moz, SpyFu, SEMrush, Ahrefs, etc) and managing campaigns within those platforms.
  • Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal, communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills
  • An understanding of how to best market to a variety of different audiences within B2B, B2C, and B2G industries
  • Proven ability in handling concurrent projects with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, project management and time management skills
  • BS/BA degree preferred
  • Agency experience is a plus!

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop and implement search engine marketing strategies
  • Regularly perform thorough keyword research for organic and paid search placement opportunities
  • Identify key SEO KPIs
  • Monitor redirects, click rate, bounce rate, and other KPIs
  • Crafting SEO and PPC strategies and providing proactive recommendations for clients tailored to their unique goals, strengths, and challenges.
  • Assist with content strategy and implementation, making sure that content aligns with best practices and user search intent.
  • Aid in the setup and maintenance of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager tracking.
  • Regularly assess the technical health of client sites, provide recommendations for improvement, and communicate findings to the Account Services and Dev teams (whatever is applicable).
  • Outline key insights and takeaways in reports.
  • Keep pace with SEM industry trends and developments.
