The National Organization of Veterans’ Advocates is a non-profit membership educational program. NOVA is a national organization of attorneys and other qualified members who act as advocates for disabled veterans. They got their start in 1993 and operate out of the District of Columbia.
Prior to working with Ironistic.com, the NOVA membership roster was managed in an Excel spread sheet. They were required to keep track of most of their membership data and reporting manually. NOVA had a website that was public-facing providing some general information about the organization. They had a separate Wiki page, which is where they stored hundreds of resource documents for the veteran advocates and attorneys, as well as a separate bulletin board (vbulletin) where members could interact with other members of the organization. Members were forced to log in to each of the areas in different places and were taken away from the main site in order to utilize the great services and resources that NOVA provides.
We were able to create a customized, fully-integrated solution for NOVA using S2Member for base functionality on a WordPress platform. NOVA members can now access everything they need within the one website. Furthermore, all NOVA members can now update their profile information themselves… so no more manual data updates in Excel, which will save a lot of leg work in the future. There are 7 different levels of custom capabilities that allow or disallow certain members from seeing specific areas of the site. There is a ton of cool customized functionality behind the login, but unfortunately, you will only be able to see it if you are a member of the site!
